So I know it has been a while since my last post. Things have been very hectic here in Simpsonville. I took my class to Washington DC and that was quite the experience. All of the walking was very good for me, however, the food choices for 180 plus people were very limited. There was a lot of buffets and fast food which was not very good. On the up side, I am going to 9 Rounds tomorrow for the first time with a friend to try it out. I hope it is a great fit as being with a friend to work out would help keep me motivated. I will let you know how it goes.

Dinner Recipe 1
As an aside, I am so excited about now having an oven that works! Our previous home was built in 1900 and the oven/stove was an ancient gas oven/stove and the only people that could work on it were in Canada, which is where the oven was from. Needless to say we could not afford to have it worked on. So now that we are established in the new house it is glorious to have an oven! Unfortunately, it shall not see any cookies, cupcakes, brownies, etc. any time soon....hopefully. :)
Dinner for tonight...it was very good but I used spinach wrap and paired with a spinach salad.

Inspiration 1 (Motivation for the First WEEK)
Reason for the Blog
Why This Blog?
The reason why I decided to create this type of Blog is not all that complex. We recently (in the past two weeks) purchased a new home and decided we needed to eliminate A LOT of stuff in the move. This required me to go through pictures and clothes...OMG!!! I knew I needed to loose weight and be more healthy but looking at these two things just really hit home. Before having babies, and becoming a teacher, I was VERY active and fit. Looking at the pictures made me realize how much I need to get it together for myself, my husband and my kids. I want the boys in my life, and more importantly myself, to be proud of me. I have a ways to go but I think that this will really help me overcome the excuses I have allowed to rule my life. I have allowed tons of excuses to explain away my unhealthy habits and lack of exercise. Of course the most convenient excuses are TIME and STRESS. "I don't have TIME to cook a meal, I don't have TIME to workout, I don't have TIME...." "I am under too much STRESS...I just want to relax, drink a glass of wine, go to sleep, etc. etc."
This blog is a way for me to hold myself accountable to how I use my TIME and manage my STRESS. I am going to share how I am doing and for my readers...resources I find that have helped me. I will include recipes, supportive articles, exercise information etc.
So here's to hoping I am updating with tons of sage advice, flattering pics, and the like. I am sure there will be downfalls and stumbling blocks along the way and maybe with each other's support...a bathing suit I haven't worn in quite a while at the end of the "blogbow".
